The Microbot Gift Pack has everything you need to get started with the Micobot robot kit, including programming cable, batteries and bonus light sensors. All you need is a computer and an internet connection. 


The Microbot Gift Pack comes with a set of three AAA batteries and USB programming cable. Everything you need to start exploring the world of robotics!

The Microbot is a simple to build hobby and educational programmable robot kit that uses the Microbric electronic construction system that requires no soldering to build or reconfigure this very versatile robot.

At the heart of the Microbot is a motherboard that contains a powerful PICAXE 20X2 microcontroller that can be programmed using flowcharts with the ‘Logicator for PICAXE’ software or in the PICAXE BASIC language. The Microbot can be programmed on Windows, Linux and Mac computer systems. Programs are downloaded via the AXE027 USB cable.

The Microbot motherboard is also fitted with a battery box, 2 drive motors, a piezo sounder to make sounds, two LED ‘eyes’ (lights), a push switch and a download socket for connecting the USB programming cable.

Various input/output modules can also be easily connected to the motherboard via the Microbric connection system. A Microbric edge consists of three conductors (+ V, 0V and Data). A plastic Microbric ‘Bric’ is used to connect two Microbric edges together with clamping screws used to complete the electrical connection and to robustly hold the assembly together.
The Microbot robot kit contains a number of modules including two bump sensors, line tracker, pen holder and a servo connector. Other sensor modules are also available separately in Add-on packs.

PICAXE Programming System
The ‘brain’ of the Microbot is a powerful PICAXE-20X2 microcontroller that can be reprogrammed by the end user. Therefore the Microbot can be easily customised and programmed with new features as required. Does This Kit Come With The Infared Remote Controller And Light Sensors And Usb Cable?

This kit comes with teh USB cable, but not a remote control or the light sensors.




what age group are the robots suitable for?

It's a difficult question to answer as some kids will stop at nothing to complete the kit and can do this from as young as seven. I co-ordinate an electronics club for primary children at a Queensland school ( Australia) and I am very keen to buy 3 of your robots for a project starting in term 4.
